Cryptosporidium Outbreak in Brixham –

Over the last few weeks I have not been feeling well at all. I strongly suspected that I had contracted cryptosporidium again. I recognised all the symptoms as I had fallen victim to it before. It is a very nasty parasite and the first time round it made me extremely ill. When it was officially confirmed the first time, my GP said he was unsurprised at how bad I was feeling as it can be a killer. Luckily this time, although my symptoms were still pretty severe I think that some residual immunity from the first bout must have helped. I did find working very difficult during this period, but I’m glad to say that very slowly I’m on the mend.

Interestingly, I’ve just received a service text message from South West Water telling me that I should boil all of my water as I’m in an affected area. What I find odd is that they are only just reporting this now. I’ve had crypto symptoms for weeks. Below are some links to the media coverage surrounding this current outbreak.
