Unit One – Learning Objective 2
Learning Objective Two
Implement appropriate working methods for building an independent and effective self-organisation that enables the critical engagement with practice-based research (AC Process)
At the beginning of the project most of my previous focus had been in the area of digital photography and more specifically macro photography. I knew that in order to expand my thinking and practice, I needed to explore a whole new range of materials and processes. I needed to identify those methods that were going to be the most appropriate to my lines of enquiry. Therefore, I began by momentarily swapping my digital photography so that I could delve into the analogue world of Photograms and Luminograms. I suspect that as the project progresses then I will revisit this area. I also wanted to very much keep up my drawing skills so I incorporated a rigorous zentangle drawing exercise into each week. I adhered to strict rules so as to continually test my skill in this area.
Using critical analysis, I identified very quickly that painting and drawing were not skills that would necessarily be required in this project. Indeed much of the premise to the project is that painting, drawing as a 2d medium may become steadily replaced by Ai text to image prompts for mid-range creative jobs. Therefore, a larger part of my focus has been towards moving my practice into video, time-lapse video with an emphasis on sound, animation, Ai generated video and stills, creatively coded animations and Ai ChatGPT animation created by its own programs.
Above is just a select sample of all of my experimentation with my chosen materials and processes. I believe I have begun to successfully implement appropriate working methods for building an independent and effective self-organisation that enables the critical engagement with practice-based research. To further evidence this have have included below a wider sample of blogs showing additional experimentation.
NB: If you are accessing this page via a smartphone please use the tags to explore the wider selection of my work. Unfortunately mobile phones do not appear to display in the same way as tablets, laptops and computers. I am currently working to find a solution.
