Visual Exploration (Videos)

Film Feedback

Group Final Film Feedback – I was absolutely ‘blown away’ by all of the lovely comments made about my film!  I’d been so unsure of my final 5 minute video, but judging by the comments I hadn’t needed to worry.  Pretty much everyone across the board had understood what I was trying to say.  The individual class emails I received were so positive! It really cheered me up, Particularly after feeling so low and ill over the last few weeks.  This has been one of the best experiences I’ve had regarding my work, and I want to thank everyone personally for their kind comments and words of encouragement. Unfortunately, email addresses with the @gmail extension are not allowing my emails through, so I am hoping that I can find everyone’s Instagram accounts – that way I can thank everyone for their kind words.  Below is an image showing a board full of comments by all who participated.     Many thanks to all who left such kind comments on both the Miro boards and via personal emails.  I hope to respond to everyone personally to say thank you as soon as I can fix my email issue or through Instagram.

Personal and Professional Development Plan – Below are some of the activities that I hope to work one after my MA Fine Art Digital Course is complete.     Future Plans    *  Have a break! Take some time out to catch up family and friends   * Build on my ‘Little Wins’   * Produce promotional materials for my mobile for the end of year show   * Evaluate the response to my mobile and seize any resulting opportunities   * Continue to add to and build upon my collection of ‘Little Wins’   * Establish a more robust and commercially viable way of producing my mobiles   * Seek out artistic collaborations with some of my work colleagues   * Establish connections with galleries and foster current relationships   * Establish connections with architects with a view to designing mobiles for large spaces   * Sell some mobiles to fund my ongoing work and outbuilding refurbishment (to create a studio space)   * Catch up on any of the online artist talks and progression videos I may have missed and continue to read and research   *  Contact the MACBA Museum in Barcelona to discuss any opportunities relating […]

Summary of Progress

Summary and Evaluation of Overall Progress –   “Art is the soul’s reflection, echoing humanity’s quest for unity amidst the bits and bytes of our technological evolution.”   Out of all of the sections of Unit 3, this one (LO3), has by far been the most difficult for me to complete.  Partially because it is the last one and I’m really sad about that, but also because I genuinely don’t know where to begin.  At one point I even considered just feeding my words from the first section into ChatGPT.  However I wanted my final piece of writing to come straight from the heart.  This is because over the last two years I have been on a transformative journey.  When I began the course most of my creative activity revolved around macro photography and I had a deep love of the subject.  I saw myself initially using this skill and refining it further to create more and more interesting art pieces.  However, in the midst of all of this I witnessed the rapid rise of text to image and text to video AI industrialised art. An Evolution

Changes Mirrored in Colour Palettes – As I reviewed the requirements for various learning objectives, I wondered if I could visually depict the transformation or evolution of my work. I recalled an early blog post where I explored my phone’s camera roll using an app that compresses images into a heat map. I then further pixelated these images in Photoshop to break them down into their constituent colours. This process was documented in a blog post called ‘Starting an MA’.  It was actually only my second post, so it is highly representative of what I was doing 2 years ago.  I wondered what my very latest camera roll images would look like now compared to those of 2 years ago?   Colour Photo Maps The following before-and-after color maps illustrate the evolution of my color palette. The images on the left depict my pre-2022 colour choices, while those on the right cover the period from the start of my MA in Fine Art Digital up to the present.
