Mobile Logistics and Film Sound –
I had a really interesting tutorial with Jonathan today. We discussed the logistics surrounding my mobile and the ways in which people could access the augmented reality without actually being told what to do.
One of the ways in which this might be achieved is to place small QR codes onto each of the active elements of the mobile. That way when people point their phones at the mobile they will naturally invoke the augmented reality. I really like this idea and over the next few weeks I will definitely trial this. On the back of our conversation I am also going to try and stay until at least Wednesday night of the show so that I can see how the vibe and atmospheres change between the bustling private view and a more normal and quieter gallery day.
As I’ve noted in my blog before, I have often compared my work to that of a couple of other students from last year. I felt that my work was really falling short and as a result I have been feeling so dissatisfied with what I’ve done. Jonathan suggested that maybe the music could be improved or more considered and I have to agree. I think that perhaps he has put his finger on the problem, whereas with me being so close to the work, I wasn’t so able to see it.
I have decided to try again with the music. I have still have additional clips to shoot, so when I come to assemble them I’m definitely going to revise the music. I feel like there’s still much refiing to do.
Just as I had finished our conversation I had an email come in from work – OFSTEAD are coming in for a ‘deep dive’ next week – Happy days!
