Monday Guest Lectures –
This week I finally had the opportunity to start catching up again on the Monday guest lectures. I really enjoy listening to the guest lectures as I find they are always packed with lots of useful information. This week I took a look at George Clark. Below are a selection of his slides. I like to keep these as reference.
I particularly enjoyed George’s talk and perhaps the main ‘takeaways’ from his talk were always keep a lookout for collaborations. The more collaborations the better because you never know what will come from them. One thing he noted was how people had built up an impression of him in that he was very well travelled, worldly wise, knowledgeable etc. George was surprised at this, but he said it wasn’t a bad thing just to run with it. Therefore, if someone thinks that you are perhaps just that bit more successful than you actually are, then maybe it’s not such a bad thing not to enlighten them.
